Two new and exciting adventures for New Haw Community Centre, local residents and myself: a monthly Antique & Collectable Vintage Fair on the first Sunday of every month starting from 7th July, and a monthly General Auction, Antiques, Collectables and Household on the third Sunday of every month starting 21st July.
My friends and I have been involved in Antique Fairs and Auctions for more years than I can count on my fingers and toes! With a wealth of experience between us, selling at Fairs and buying at Auctions, we decided that we should try it ourselves and introduce the fun and excitement of selling and buying to the community of New Haw and its surrounding areas. Yes it is fun, once the bug bites there’s no stopping!
The Fair is open to anyone who wishes to sell goods that can come under the category of Antique, Collectable or Vintage, we can provide advice and guidance, all they need to do is book a table, (£20 per table), bring along their goods and start selling to the crowds of local residents who will hopefully come along to seek out that little treasure or gift they have been looking for (£1.00 entrance for adults).
As with the Fair, the Auction is open to anyone who wishes to sell or buy items on a bidding basis. If you have never been to an auction, just come along with no obligation, you will soon get the bug. Sellers can bring along any items that they wish to sell in the auction on the day of the sale from 11am to 2pm. Buyers can come along from 3pm to bid on items in the sale. (There will be a commission charge for both buyers and sellers). The Auction will be led by a professional auctioneer, Heather Cannon, who was auctioneer at Barbers Auction.
Free valuations will be available at both the Fair and Auction, or by appointment.
Light refreshments, beverages, sandwiches, cakes etc will be available at both the Antique Fair and Auction.
